Biography

Dina Khataan | Contemporary Visual Artist

Winner of the Global Art Award for Innovative Art in 2018, Dina Khataan is an Egyptian artist dubbed as "The Queen of Resin" in the vibrant world of resin art. Her creative journey unfolds against the backdrop of two captivating metropolises, where she skillfully merges the modern dynamism of Dubai with the timeless allure of Hamburg, drawing from the rich tapestry of experiences and opportunities woven between these two iconic cities.

Dina's artistry is not just admired but sought after, gracing the walls of art collectors and interior designers who adorn royalty's residences and elevate the ambiance of premium hotels. Her work has found a stage in numerous exhibitions worldwide, attracting the discerning gaze of collectors hailing from the USA, UK, Russia, Finland, Denmark, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Lebanon, Iran, Nigeria, India, Bangladesh, and beyond.

In addition to her exhibitions, Dina has been an active participant in both local and international art shows, continually expanding her artistic horizons. Her luminous talent has captured the attention of the global media, with features in esteemed publications like CNN and Architectural Digest, cementing her status as a distinguished figure in the realm of contemporary art.

Dina Khataan, has been creating for as long as she can remember. A self-taught contemporary artist who lived in South Africa for third of her life, immersed in cultural and natural beauty; the secret to her inspiration. It is also where she received her Diploma in Interior Decoration from Inscape Design College in Cape Town, South Africa. Beside her Bsc degree in Commerce from Egypt.

Her grandfather was her childhood 'art mentor'; a fine painter and a sculptor who was heavily influenced by the "Japonisme" art movement. "I was the only grandchuld allowed to enter his workshop! Watching the process of art creation from an early age heavely influenced my direction in life. He transformed how I look at things. I wish I have spent more time with him but as a family we have to travel a lot." Dina says.

The artist is highly experimental with her materials. Her art is free-flowing, intuitive, and characterized by a modern sophisticated luxury look. The artist has developed her own trademark techniques which she shares in her workshops.

Winner of The Global Art Awards 2018 in Innovative Art, and, a finalist of The Global Art Awards 2018 in Painting, and in Magzoid Art Icons Awards 2023 for Best Artistic Entrepreneur.

As an art supporter and mentor in the MENA region, she is the Managing Director of “International Center of Art Pioneers" - UAE Branch which have more than 2700 artist members as of now in the region. She has been chosen to be a jury member in multiple art competition and award nights in UAE.

Dina's artworks have been exhibited in a number of exhibitions in Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Mauratius and Egypt, among them, are World Art Dubai and other international and local exhibitions.

Dina has an entureprenural spirit. she founded Moog Studio along with her brother who is an Interior Architect. Moog Studio is an art and design studio that design and manufacture furniture and creative artistic wall and floor solutions using epoxy.

Tha artist developed her own art supplies brand called INK IT by which she present premium mediums to the artists so that they enjoy their art journeys without having to worry about hunting for the best product out there.
